The President of the Pennsylvania Bar Association has appointed Jay Silberblatt to serve as Chair of the PBA's Professional Liability Committee. This committee monitors the law that pertains to the legal profession and conducts educational forums throughout the state on legal malpractice. As a member of the committee, Jay has been travelling across the state lecturing to lawyers about methods of improving their practices so as to avoid incidences of legal malpractice. Because of his extraordinary efforts, he has been awarded a Special Achievement Award by the Pennsylvania Bar Association.

Jay N. Silberblatt is a 1977 cum laude graduate of Allegheny College where he received Departmental Honors in American Studies. He earned his law degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1980 where he served as a Senior Writer on the Law Review. Jay recently concluded service as the 128th President of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. He has served as Chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Civil Litigation Section and as Chair of the Civil Litigation Section of the Allegheny County Bar Association. He is a member of House of Delegates of both the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the American Bar Association, and he is the Immediate Past-Chair of the PBA Professional Liability Committee.
