Silberblatt Negotiates Six Figure Settlement for Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle

An older woman was using a walker while out for a walk in her neighborhood when a vehicle made a left turn and struck her while she was crossing a street.  Although no bones were broken and no surgery was required, our client remained hospitalized for a lengthy period of time and then required extensive physical therapy.  With the help of a private mediator, Jay Silberblatt successfully negotiated a six-figure settlement well beyond what the client and her family were expecting.

Jay N. Silberblatt

Jay N. Silberblatt is a 1977 cum laude graduate of Allegheny College where he received Departmental Honors in American Studies. He earned his law degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1980 where he served as a Senior Writer on the Law Review. Jay recently concluded service as the 128th President of the Pennsylvania Bar Association.  He has served as Chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Civil Litigation Section and as Chair of the Civil Litigation Section of the Allegheny County Bar Association. He is a member of House of Delegates of both the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the American Bar Association, and he is the Immediate Past-Chair of the PBA Professional Liability Committee.
